In total, 32 bus routes will be eliminated and 16 routes will be shortened.
Trolleys and subways will also offer less rides further apart.
And it all happened just in time for the first day of school, with many students starting the year today without the transportation they've relied on to get to school.
And there are more cuts to come.
Next will be a reduction to the regional rail service on September 2nd.
Fares are also scheduled to increase at the start of next month.
All of this because SEPTA has a $213 million operating budget hole with no stable funding source.
